This is the room-by-room list our cleaners actually work from. Print it, stick it on the fridge, and check things off as you go.

Kitchen
- Clear and wipe all counters and the backsplash
- Sink, faucet and garbage disposal scrubbed
- Stovetop, control knobs and range hood exterior
- Microwave inside and out
- Front of every cabinet and appliance
- Inside the refrigerator — toss anything expired
- Sweep, then mop, ending at the doorway
Bathrooms
- Toilet: bowl, seat, tank, base and the floor behind it
- Shower and tub walls, plus the grout lines
- Hard-water buildup on the faucet and shower head
- Mirror and any glass, streak-free
- Vanity top, drawers and the cabinet underneath
- Exhaust fan cover dusted
- Fresh towels out, trash emptied
Bedrooms
- Strip and wash bedding; flip or rotate the mattress
- Dust nightstands, dresser tops, lamps and headboard
- Wipe down light switches and door handles
- Clear the closet floor and straighten shelves
- Vacuum under the bed, not just around it
- Wipe window sills and check for dust on blinds
Living areas
- Dust shelves, media console, frames and decor
- Wipe screens and remotes with a dry microfiber cloth
- Vacuum upholstery, including under the cushions
- Fluff and rotate cushions and throw pillows
- Baseboards and door frames wiped
- Vacuum or mop all floors, edges included
Entry, laundry & hallways
- Shake out or vacuum entry mats
- Wipe the inside of the front door and its frame
- Clean out the dryer lint trap
- Wipe washer and dryer tops and the detergent tray
- Dust hallway light fixtures and vent covers
- Sweep and mop the entry last
Weekly rhythm that keeps it easy
- Monday: 10-minute kitchen reset
- Tuesday: one bathroom, top to bottom
- Wednesday: all floors, one pass
- Thursday: dust one level of the house
- Friday: laundry and linens
- Saturday: 15-minute clutter sweep
- Sunday: rest — you earned it
